Job Summary:
Our Client Advisory business has doubled in the last three years. Business Advisory has been key to our success, and is central to our plans to continue as we grow our national consulting practice.
As a Business Advisor, you will help achieve Messari Groups core purpose—helping entrepreneurs thrive every day—by helping them and their companies identify best practices and tax incentives to grow their business. You will have the opportunity to collaborate in a variety of businesses with clients and help set their strategies, in tax, accounting, and finance.
The Business Advisor mission is to help our clients as efficiently and effectively as possible identify, document, and support their businesses for examination by tax authorities. Our longer-term goal is to develop a relationship with them as people and understand all aspects of their business so that we are well positioned as their trusted advisors. We strive to be the professional who understands both their business operations and how it impacts their personal taxes so that Messari Group can help them realize their goals.
Job Duties:
- Proactively assists in the execution of multiple client engagements
- Collaborates with other team members in all aspects of our business, e.g., innovating; developing and implementing better strategies and processes for our services, marketing, etc.
- Contributes to the development of your own Accounting and Financial acumen and market prominence
- Keeps up to date with local and national business and economic issues
- Participates in business development activities to further develop your own professional network, with Messari Group and others, and helps to identify and research opportunities for new and existing clients
- Contributes to, supports, and enhances the culture of Messari Group, our local offices, and as a leading professional services firm

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, required; with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or Law, preferred
Experience:
- Leadership experience, preferred
- Training others in Accounting and Finance
- Tax, Accounting, or corporate finance, preferred
License/Certifications:
- Active pursuit in becoming a licensed CPA, EA, or CMA
Software:
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite required
- QuickBooks Online, required to pass Advanced QuickBooks Online certification
- NetSuite, a plus
- CCH Axcess, a plus
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
- Ability to work independently within a team environment and with a customer service focus
- Superior organizational skills and project management skills required with ability to multi-task in a fast- paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong initiative and drive to lead while seeking opportunities to enhance and grow the Accounting practice
